End Childhood Hunger
When you commit to the Lunch Money Challenge, you’re taking a stand against hunger. It takes a community of volunteers, individual donors and corporate donors to impact the epidemic of childhood hunger.
See below for how to get started.
Commit to the Challenge
This is simple! Fill out the form at the bottom of this page (or click here) and our team will contact you to deliver your lunchbox with everything needed to launch the Lunch Money Challenge (stickers, posters, handouts, table tents and more).
Identify Your Committee & Leaders
Select a Committee Captain and an Executive Sponsor to lead the challenge.
Determine the length of the Challenge (1 day, 1 week, 1 month, etc.).
Schedule a company-wide kick off meeting to make everything official.
Execute the Lunch Money Challenge
Now it’s time to get started. We suggest kicking things off with a pep rally. Your Captain will hype up your team and drum up awareness for the Challenge, while the Executive Sponsor provides encouragement and support to the committee. We will give you an official video to present to staff, designed to inspire thoughtful and enthusiastic participation.
After this kick off meeting, we suggest adding campaign information to your company-wide intranet, distributing hard copy resources to common areas throughout the office and displaying the provided posters in common areas to reinforce awareness.
Tips to Help You Get the Most Out of the Challenge:
- Share your team’s efforts on social media using hashtags #LunchMoneyChallenge & #IFedAChildToday
- Proudly wear your #IFedAChildToday sticker
- See if your cafeteria will “round up” lunch totals OR allow for a donation at checkout
- Celebrate your success – it’s OK to brag…when you do, you’re spreading more awareness for the cause
Where Your Lunch Money Goes
When kids aren’t hungry, they can focus on learning, participating in extracurricular activities and simply being a kid. Your contributions to the Lunch Money Challenge go directly to helping the 1 in 4 hungry children in Ohio worry less about where their next meal will come from.
